Eye drops 5 mL.

Composition

1 mL contains 25 mg of phenylephrine hydrochloride.

Product characteristics

Direct-acting sympathomimetic. It causes mydriasis, has no cycloplegic effect. The onset of mydriasis occurs within 15–60 min. The maximum duration of mydriasis is 60–90 min. Full recovery occurs within 3–7 hours after instilling.

Posology and method of administration

1 drop of solution provides adequate mydriasis for 1–3 hours. The maximum therapeutic dose should not exceed 3 drops a day.

Therapeutic indications

It is used to dilate the pupil during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, during surgical interventions, in uveitis — to break the posterior synechiae. Paediatric use from the first days of life.
